Warm Irish Welcome awaits European ADULT EDUCATION Delegation

This week we are delighted to be hosting a delegation of twenty people from eight different European countries for a three day visit to Leitrim and Carrick on Shannon.  The  visit by  the YWOLI (Young Women Orientation for Labour Integration) project group will be the eight meeting of the partners. YWOLI as we have discussed before, is a Grundtvig Learning Partnership which aims to tackle the challenges faced by young women across Europe in accessing employment. The project received funding under the European Union’s Lifelong Learning programme for a two year project.

To date there has been 7 international meetings attended by a mixture of learners and adult education staff from nine different European countries, Romania, Poland, United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, Czech Republic, Iceland, Germany and Ireland. These meetings have brought about a number of key project outcomes and studies which include the development of a website www.ywoli.eu and a number of free online resources and tools namely, a comparative study on the integration of women in labour market, a presentation on helpful tips on time management, an intercultural study on cultural stereotypes, a leaflet that deals with misogyny and harassment, a study on the role of women in different European Societies and a brochure about how to be successful in personal and professional life.

The key focus of this upcoming Irish meeting is an Intercultural Exchange on the Best Practices in Adult Education which Momentum will lead with input from all partners. On top of their jam packed work schedule the delegation look forward to getting a taste of our famous Irish culture and traditions.

The final YWOLI project meeting takes place in June in Onesti, Romaina Those wishing to find out more about the project can do so on www.ywoli.eu or by contacting us on 071 9623500.
