Laurence was at the kick-off meeting for the Inclusive Paths – Educating Youth through the Power of Animals Project in Stockholm recently.
The Inclusive Paths Project aims to enhance the mental health and social inclusion of vulnerable adolescents by implementing innovative Animal-Assisted Interventions. Through training and support, we strive to create a nurturing environment that fosters educational engagement and personal growth.
During the two-day meeting the partners had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the project’s mission to enhance mental health and social inclusion for vulnerable adolescents through Animal-Assisted Interventions.
The team got a chance to visit Stall Kungsgården, which is a unique environment for horse-assisted activities, research and development work. The establishment has its background in the professional activities with horse-assisted interventions for people with disabilities that the Hippocampus Foundation has conducted since 1995. The activities are aimed at children, young people and adults with various disabilities, but also at people who for other reasons need support to achieve health and well-being.
The visit to Stall Kungsgården emphasised the importance of the Inclusive Paths Project, with the partners seeing first-hand the difference that animals can make to the wellbeing of people.
