ESCOLA will enhance the digital skills of engineering students by providing new supportive learning environments for engineering classes that will help students to understand and evaluate engineering applications in practice.
The use of technology in our everyday lives is reflective of the digital age which we live in, digital tools increase efficiency, productivity and allows us to stay connected however these tools are underutilised within education systems.
Although most HE educators prefer to employ the classic teaching methods, more immersive and innovative approaches are shown to be more effective. ESCOLA aims to encourage educators to employ these interactive teaching approaches and digital teaching tools as a means of enhancing the learning of students.
Specifically ESCOLA will develop an accessible learning platform for engineering laboratory practice. In doing so, we help students to develop an empathic approach to engineering labs, facilitating the professional development of teachers, improvement of students’ intercultural communication and peer relationships, and increasing students’ ability to think creatively.
