New Research on Mentoring Highly Educated Ukrainian Women – The NatAlli Project

Momentum is delighted to be working on the NatAlli Project. We are firm believers in empowering and supporting women and we’ve seen firsthand the struggles that Ukrainian women are facing. Many have had to leave their homes and move to other countries. In some cases, just when families are settled into a new location in Ireland they have to move without warning.

The NatAlli Project, led by FH Münster, is creating a mentoring program for mentors to help university educated Ukrainian women become successful entrepreneurs or innovators within existing companies. The project team has carried out extensive research and they have produced some two excellent reports; Nelli Scharapow from FH Münster will tell you more about them:

The first report focuses on the challenges and opportunities faced by highly educated Ukrainian women in the crisis. It presents part of the findings of the research work package (WP2), which employs a foresight methodology to develop strategies for mentoring the next generation of women innovators and entrepreneurs. This in-depth report includes the background of the NatAlli Project and the key trends and drivers shaping Europe. As part of the primary research on the current landscape, the NatAlli project team interviewed Ukrainian women about their experiences in their new host countries and also consulted with stakeholders and national agencies about their roles to produce key insights and learning which will inform the development of the NatAlli mentoring programme.

The second report focuses on scenario planning – the vision of a mentoring programme for highly educated Ukrainian women. This report features success stories and a comprehensive plan that envisions the future of mentoring for highly educated Ukrainian women, ensuring they are equipped to lead and contribute to Europe’s recovery and growth. Based firmly in reality, the report also details the challenges faced by both the mentors and mentees and outlines what will need to be addressed and considered in the next phases of work
