The First Transnational Partner Meeting of the BE-21-SKILLED Project

The BE-21-SKILLED first transnational partner meeting took place in the beautiful city of Riga, Latvia, earlier this year. BE-21-SKILLED stands for Building an Ecosystem for 21st Century Skills Education in STEM. The project aims to identify and instill region-specific 21st-century skills (21CS) in HEI STEM teachers so that they are better equipped to transfer these to their students. A particular emphasis will be placed on female students in STEM, who are particularly underrepresented in STEM fields; are at greater risk of dropping out, and generally, have poorer career outcomes than their male counterparts.

Our lead project partners – RTU Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management of Riga Technical University were wonderful hosts, and it was a pleasure to meet the other partners: University of Belgrade, Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU) and European E-learning Institute (EUEI).

BE-21-SKILLED will produce the following resources:

  1. Regional Skill Councils Blueprint and Skill Panorama
  2. 2. BE-21-SKILLED Toolkit
  3. 3. BE-21-SKILLED Teacher Empowerment Program
  4. 4. BE-21-SKILLED eCompass
  5. 5. BE-21-SKILLED Student Pilot and BE-21-SKILLED Playbook
