The Youth Fit For 55 Training event took place in Bucharest, Romania recently. Laurence was there for Momentum, and he was joined by Nessa, Dara, and Gavan, who were the voices of young people in Ireland, and made insightful contributions to the event.
The training was both informative and engaging, offering valuable insights for both young people and us. It provided not only great content but also opportunities for meaningful exchanges with youth and professionals from other countries. Programs like Erasmus+, and projects like Youth Fit for 55 are crucial for developing a sense of European unity and broadening the perspectives of young people.
Inspired by the European Green Deal and its ambitious “Fit for 55” package, the project aims to educate young people about the challenges and solutions to climate change and environmental protection.
The training event included workshops and discussion on the climate goals of the European Green Deal. The team also got to meet with project partners and other young people from other European Countries. It was inspiring to listen to young people who are committed to a more sustainable future.

The Youth Fit for 55 Awareness Campaign. A series of videos aimed to educate young people about the challenges and solutions to climate change and environmental protection.
The Youth-fit-for-55 Awareness Guide. This guide showcases how innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility can intertwine to create impactful change, offering a comprehensive understanding and practical examples that inspire and empower.
The Youth Fit for 55 Foresight Toolkit. The toolkit aims to provide youth educators with valuable knowledge and resources, to act as driving forces in the process of green transition.
The team also explored the Youth Fit for 55 Digital Hub. The hub includes a podcast station, green community exchange space, additional resources, and more.
There was also a chance to visit the Moara de hârtie, a paper mill in Comana. The mill’s mission is to be a focal point of synergy between people, crafts and art. It was a fascinating place that combines tradition and craftsmanship.
