We were delighted to attend the #NWED (National Women’s Enterprise Day) event at The Landmark Hotel in Leitrim recently and we shared the news of the WIL Power project. The objective of the WIL Power (Advancing Women in Transport and Logistics) is clear: to develop innovative vocational education and training that will assist women working in transport and logistics to progress to leadership roles within their companies and organisations.
It was inspiring listening to Anne Guckian, who was Leitrim’s Leading Light for the event. Anne is the owner of Leitrim Office Supplies and she gave a powerful talk about her career – which started with her becoming an HGV driver. One of her first work challenges was transporting live fish to another county in Ireland, it all worked out very well – thankfully!
We got to network with so many different people at the event and we heard some wonderful stories of women achieving their goals.
The WIL Power Linkedin group is open for networking so please join, comment and post as you like: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/13963313/
The WIL Power Project also has a free course, that you can take at your own time, online, and you can start discussions there, and learn about your role in logistics, at your own pace, in your language: https://www.womeninlogistics.info/online-course/
