Across Europe and beyond, a quiet but powerful shift is taking place among young people. Climate change is no longer a distant concept, it’s something that’s happening now, and this can be overwhelming. For many, this manifests as climate anxiety: a complex mix of fear, frustration, and urgency about the future of our planet.
The Planet Pulse Project exists at the heart of this moment. As partners, we at Momentum Consulting are proud to contribute to a growing movement that doesn’t just acknowledge these feelings, it transforms them into meaningful action.
At its core, the Planet Pulse Project aims to confront youth climate anxiety head-on. Rather than viewing anxiety as something to be “fixed,” the project recognises it as a rational response to a global crisis, and a potential catalyst for change.
The aim of Planet Pulse is to support climate-concerned young people in becoming informed, resilient advocates who are equipped to drive change within their own communities.
One of the project’s most valuable contributions is the Youth-Centric Climate Awareness Guide and Resilience Framework. This resource provides a structured, accessible way for young people to:
- Understand what climate anxiety is and why it occurs
- Reflect on their emotional responses to climate change
- Explore coping strategies that build resilience
- Begin translating concern into constructive action
Complementing this is the Planet Pulse Climate Anxiety Check, a guided self-assessment tool designed to help users reflect on their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours related to climate change. It offers a gentle entry point for self-awareness, something that is often missing in climate discourse.
The Planet Pulse Youth Stories collection brings together 22 young voices from across Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. These are not abstract case studies; they are deeply personal reflections from individuals navigating life in a changing world.
These stories remind us that climate anxiety is not uniform. It is shaped by geography, culture, and lived experience. Yet across all contexts, there is a shared thread: a desire to act, to contribute, and to be heard.
While empowering young people is central, Planet Pulse also recognises the critical role of educators, youth workers, and community leaders. The Youth Connect Portal serves as a dedicated hub for these stakeholders, offering:
- Tailored training resources
- Practical tools for youth engagement
- Guidance on supporting youth-led climate initiatives
By strengthening the capacity of those working directly with young people, the project ensures that support systems are not only present—but effective.
