Good Times in Groningen – For the eWBL Project

After almost a year of working together online, our project partners gathered at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands for our second transnational meeting about our digital work-based learning project – eWBL

Thais Fagundes, Fondazione Brodolini, guided us through the results from our first deliverable. We finalised our national reports investigating online work-based learning in five European countries: Italy, Ireland, Slovenia, Germany and The Netherlands. The collated findings will inform the creation of our framework and resources which will help those in higher education better prepare students for different types of work-based learning.

After lunch, Dr Andre Perusso hosted a workshop, allowing us to get hands-on with flipcharts to explore our ideas on the framework through project-oriented discussion. We also welcomed valuable contributions online from Roberta Borgotti, Ca’Foscari, University of VeniceWe wrapped up our first day with a history tour of Groningen led by Prof. Dr Robert Wagenaar including a visit to the cultural Forum for some photos before dinner in Eetcafé Ugly Duck.

Keeping us on track throughout the two-day meeting, project leader Habtamu Garomssa, FH Münster brought us up-to-date on administrative and dissemination activities as well as starting discussions around the timeline for resource creation. We also had a look ahead at capacity building with Samantha Carty, Momentum and got excited about planning our next in-person meeting in Ireland in 2023.

A special word of thanks to Robert Wagenaar, Andre Perusso, Maria Yarosh, and Margriet Visser for their excellent hosting and generous hospitality.
