Project Description

KUS KUS is an  Erasmus+ project focused on world cuisines.  It aims to promote the cultural and culinary heritage of adult learners.   Over two years, it brings together partners from France, Germany, Portugal and Ireland to work to provide underqualified people, including those from immigrant backgrounds, with the necessary tools to design, create, launch, market and manage a business in the culinary area.   Through KUS KUS, they will acquire and test entrepreneurial skills, access high quality and adapted knowledge in the world of business and to learn how to grow from a “home-based” activity to running a small food business.

Through working on ‘world cuisines’ as the basis for developing entrepreneurial and professional skills, KUS KUS will be more successful in attracting adult learners who might not otherwise have participated.   Our educational resources are specifically designed to be used outside the traditional structures of support for entrepreneurship and thus enable European heritage to be promoted to a wider public.

KUS KUS will:

  • Develop FREE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES to teach the BUSINESS SKILLS and RESOURCES to emerging local producers
  • Create FREE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES to teach ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCIES in the culinary sector, designed for adult learners
  • Create a DIGITAL STRATEGY TOOL BOX to develop the MARKETING and DIGITALIZATION of these entrepreneurs (shared home delivery services, shared marketing spaces (corners), market presence, participation in public events (trade shows, festivals, etc.), etc.).
  • Create REGIONAL ALLIANCES in order to create ECONOMIC AND SOLIDAR NETWORKS bringing together local authorities, entrepreneurs, local producers, support structures for entrepreneurship, support associations for hospitality, support organizations in the culinary, agricultural, tourism, chefs and gastronomy professionals involved in training and transmission initiatives promoting local know-how and products.

Once completed, KUS KUS will have produced a proven model for adult education entrepreneurs that meets the interests of undergraduate, underemployed or unemployed adults. This model will propose culinary know-how “cuisines of the world” as a catalyst for entrepreneurship.

The project website is coming soon and more information on the project can be found on the project Facebook and Twitter pages.
