MindEd is a forward-thinking Erasmus+ project that equips Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with practical, evidence-based tools to embed mental health into every aspect of university life. Its flagship output is a co-designed Wellness Framework, developed with HE leaders, staff and students, which offers a whole-institution strategy for improving mental health awareness, support and cultural integration.
At the heart of the project’s innovation is a dedicated AI-powered Social Prescribing App, developed to extend access to mental health support. This tool offers students personalised recommendations for community-based activities that promote well-being. Using ethically designed AI, the app enables early intervention, autonomy and engagement, especially for students less likely to access traditional services. It reflects MindEd’s commitment to using technology for inclusive, student-centred support.
Momentum plays a key role in leading the pilot testing and refinement of the Wellness Framework, ensuring that the final version is responsive to real-world higher education contexts. This includes developing the pilot methodology, facilitating implementation, collecting participant feedback and integrating improvements. Momentum also contributes to dissemination and exploitation, ensuring that both the Framework and AI app are widely adopted and scaled across the European higher education sector.
MindEd promotes a cultural shift in how HEIs address mental health, linking well-being to academic success, personal growth and institutional resilience. By combining strategic leadership, participatory design and digital innovation, the project ensures that mental health becomes a shared, sustainable priority across campus life.
